A Special Announcement

       Change is in the air for Up To Date. As I reflect on the work I’ve put into this blog over the past few years, I am in awe of the body of work I have built. However, I have not recently been feeling up for the challenge of writing two-page blog posts every few weeks, at least for current events. The desire to write such weighty stuff is not what it used to be for me. After all, with the war in Ukraine, yet more damning evidence about last year’s insurrection, and the GOP derailing Ketanji Jackson Brown’s Senate confirmation hearings, I would be overwhelmed trying to keep up. Heck, I have been for some time now, and I’m finally ready for a change.
On top of that, this blog is getting next to no exposure. Rather than leaving my work in a perpetually moribund state with me writing into the vast voids of the Internet, I’m choosing to change the focus of the Up To Date endeavor. This is because as I became more involved with my writing, I found the humor I originally started this for to be harder to make fit. Why else did I resort to writing about Mike Lindell and Joe frickin’ Rogan for my last two entries? The new plan is to focus on the Instagram page, and to make the content more digestible overall. I hope this overhaul will reignite the fire I once had for this labor of my love, and I hope you all join me on this journey. This is not the end, this is not the beginning, but we are just getting started with the Up To Date vision.

  Up To Date With Ethan Callender Entry 25: Double Manchin Senator Joe Manchin is a Congressman tasked with representing the people of West Virginia. This is no easy task by itself, especially as a Democrat in such a Republican-leaning state. However, Manchin has completely failed at this task in the most spectacular way possible. O Say Can You Please Entry 16: To Tweet or Not to Tweet (That Is Our President)     The New York Times just published an incredibly interesting article on our current President’s history on Twitter . That may not seem very important, but Trump has an extensive catalog of ridiculous tweets. These include -- but are not certainly not limited to -- incidents of bullying, wacky conspiracy theories, and befuddling typos. It’s a dumpster fire of unintentional self-parody, and I (along with many others) see an opportunity to riff on it and wait for the inevitable “#MAGA” comments.
